I'm Ashwin Purohit, owner of automation solutions company Amped Automation. When I was 5 years old, my parents would get me out of their hair by letting me take apart old electronics. By age 12 I was programming computers for myself and my friends. At age 22 I began my career as an engineer working in the semiconductor, medical device, and then automation/robotics fields. Now I own a company where I put all of that experience to work for my customers.
Who are my customers? Basically, anyone who uses machinery, robotics, or vision systems to assemble, package, and/or inspect any products. I help people with any or all aspects of setting up their systems to help them make production quicker, cheaper, and more efficient. I love automation and robotics, and coming up with simple and creative solutions to problems.
I offer many services to meet my customer's needs. Below are some examples of the services I provide.
Fast and experienced programming to solve your automation needs
I specialize in Epson robot programming and am an Epson Automate Elite partner with extensive experience on Epson CV2 vision, Intelliflex, and other Epson accessories.
I also program devices in many languages and platforms including PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, feeders, servos, steppers, and even brand-specific languages like ARGEE for Turck modules, Omron FH cameras, and Cognex VisionPro and Insight cameras.
With decades of programming knowledge, I provide solutions to customers on every project, allowing them to meet their productivity and performance goals.
I have extensive experience in Industrial Networking Protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus (RTU and TCP), and ProfiNET. I have created custom interfaces over serial and Ethernet to integrate devices with non-standard protocols. I can also troubleshoot protocols by going down to the binary and hex code level to identify and solve problems when things aren't working properly.
For larger networking situations, I am well versed in computer systems and cloud data services from various manufacturers, enabling my customers to perform remote monitoring, data collection, and predictive maintenance.
Vision based pick and place system with flexible feeder. First parts were running within 4 hours, including calibration. Subsequent 8 other parts setup within 8 more hours.
I am skilled in mechanical and electrical design which allows me to provide guidance for how to wire up systems and improve designs. If desired, I can also help with schematics, documentation, and instructions as well as performing wiring or assembly tasks to speed prototype development and testing.
To save cost, I can also offer remote services for programming or assembly. I can then work with your team to get software or wiring installed (over the phone, screen-sharing, etc) so that machine testing can happen on your equipment directly. If there are problems or issues, we can work together to fix them and get you up and running quickly!
People often tell me that I am a great teacher, and I was actually the first non-Epson-employee authorized by Epson to provide training for programming in the country. Having already provided such training to almost 100 students, I can provide these services directly to integrators or end users. Whether it's a formal training course, or just help and training for specific applications, hardware, or software, I help customers better understand their own systems and applications.
Support can be provided over the phone, video calls, remote control, or in-person as necessary. Sometimes, just having someone to call and ask questions can help a customer get up and running again quickly, and Amped Automation can be a great resource to help!
